Geneco gets a brand new eco-friendly web presence.
Singapore recently opened its energy market & Geneco is Singapore’s newest provider. Geneco needed a website that clearly communicated what they were about: an expert in clean energy and acclaimed for their work in recycling and renewables.
What we did: In tandem with TBWA doing the brand, we started off at the bottom, taking stock of the current international web presence & auditing our position in the market & current customer perceptions. Through understanding the problems customers faced when choosing an energy provider, we were able to build the tools that allowed them to make a decision easily and quickly – all wrapped in an eco-friendly design.
We started off with a comprehensive audit which outlined all the issues customers faced, along with identifying missed opportunities the new design could leverage. We began the design with the knowledge that customers hated the jargon that energy companies love to use and didn’t understand how plans differed from each other. For this project, we spoke their language & asked the right questions to help them along the way. A design lead by our customers.
We knew customers had real difficulty in choosing the right plan for them. The usual behaviour was to view the plans and phone in to the call center for reassurance. To aid decision making, we designed tools & filters that allowed customers to choose the right plan without any doubt.
The website was designed to work primarily on mobile; all components were made to scale for maximum responsiveness.
Customers wanted to know how reliable their new energy provider was, and because of the large influx of new players, telling the Geneco story was crucial.
Geneco was keen to be seen as a thought leader and had a lot of fantastic content. We went about designing a content hub, complete with a rich set of iconography & photography that Geneco staffers could compile their thoughts to share with the public.
Reviews, testimonies & social proofing is a powerful thing. We wanted to take this idea a step further and show to the rest of Singapore real success stories of how Geneco supports small businesses & individuals. We designed an extensive set of interactive components, graphs & iconography that allowed staffers to assemble feature rich article pages that displayed immersive stories.
